How I Spent My 35th Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and I received a few good humored comments like “shouldn’t you get to do what you want on your birthday?”  These were most likely directed my way because I was at work.

So what if I actually did get to do what I wanted to do for my birthday?

My first meeting of the week was with our management team and one of the agenda items was Tell Me Something Good.  This is an agenda item that was suggested to us years ago by our friends at Giant Partners.  Each month we share one item that is the most exciting.  Everyone in the meeting shares at least one thing.  These are always positive and encouraging.  So what a great way to start my birthday than a list of the 10 most exciting things happening in our business?

A little later the management team took me to lunch.  My wife, son, parents and sister came as well.  They bought me dessert at Crazy 8, so that is definitely a special treat!

In the afternoon I had a few other meetings talking about our future vision, key projects and investing time with the sales team.

After a quick dinner at home I took my daughter Vivian to t-ball practice.  She loves t-ball so much it makes it fun to play catch with her, throw ground balls and help her learn the game.

So I did exactly what I wanted to do for my birthday.  Spent time with my family, built the business a little stronger and was reminded about many of the great things happening right now!
