Learning to Love the Process

Writing is a continual struggle for me.   Mostly trying to think of what to write about.  As I struggle through, I become jealous of those that have found their voice, their topic and appear to create great content so easily.

That perspective is such a lie!  Those that I perceive to create great content have put in the work to achieve that ability.  It may come easier now than it used to, but I guarantee you there is hard work and dedication in there somewhere.  They have been writing and refining their own words.  They were trained and educated to write by teachers along the way.  They wrote multiple articles and published only one.  No one becomes great easily and without effort.

Sure talent matters a lot.  I know there are content creators that are more talented than I am, so in some respects, it does come a little easier to them.

It comes down to me being envious of the finished product.  I look at the result and admire it, wishing I could create something similar.  We do this with almost everything we can think of to envy: career achievements, home, landscaping, physique, art, body of work.

What I need is to fall in love with is the process aka the struggle.  We know that most of the greats at anything are extremely hard to satisfy.  That is one of the things that makes them great.  The continual pursuit of something better drives them.  Thus, it feels like a continual struggle to achieve.  Life becomes a continual process of refinement.  A continual process of failure followed by success followed by failure and so on.

One great oxymoron in the world is that inside every failure there is a little success and inside every success, there is a little failure.

Achievements are an amalgamation of the struggles.  All the successes and failures come together to make one great thing.
