Treating Staycation Like Vacation
You know that feeling of urgency that rides just on the edge of panic that drives you the last day or two before you go on vacation? The one that forces you to wrap up every single loose end in case anyone needs anything you can possibly think of before you are gone for a few days? Where we pretend if we don’t handle it prior to our absence it will derail the entire business or at the very least tilt the axis of the earth a little bit?
When phrased this way it sounds utterly absurd. However, I am trying to consider this holiday weekend to be the same, even though no one in my office is working tomorrow. Mostly because it will allow me to start fresh on Monday. Hopefully refreshed from an extra day off and a task list without carryover items. So I better keep this short so I can handle all those other tiny things that I don’t want to leave hanging over the long weekend. I feel the panic rising as fear I won’t get it all done. Gotta run!
