My Leadership Test Lab

I feel like I have a little leadership test laboratory right at home. And who might the test subjects be? My kids. I have learned more about leadership from my kids than anyone else. They are now 4 and 2 meaning they are emotionally expressive and very responsive. At these ages, changes can happen quickly in order to see nearly instantaneous results in their behavior.
I came to this conclusion unexpectedly. When discussing my own personal development goals with a wise individual, it was suggested that I practice the skill or behavior I am trying to improve both at work and at home. This makes sense seeing as my weaknesses are very likely to manifest themselves at home just like they do at work. Once I actually did it, journaling about the activity and perceived results I made a profound discovery; the feedback was much faster and clearer at home, especially with my children than in the office. Based on this observation, look for a series of posts containing leadership lessons my kids have so adeptly personified.
