Each month cross-functional teams present their progress and plans towards initiatives that have been deemed to be the most important business-wide projects. This round of initiatives began as complex, nebulous, big projects and every team struggled to get their arms around them. This month was different. Every group had details, specific actions and a confident demeanor as they presented. One presenter even commented with an almost embarrassed tone that it seems so simple now. This made me smile because that is what success feels like.

I have long felt that many elements of wisdom, once discovered are incredibly simple. After all, that is the definition of a proverb: a simple statement conveying a deep truth. When the complex becomes simple, mastery is within our grasp. When the complex remains complex it remains unattainable.
